The Bergen County Firemen’s Home Association: The Annual Breakfast Meeting at the Wyckoff Fire Department November 20th, 2022

Having a meeting over a fireman’s breakfast is a tradition at the Bergen County Firemen’s Home Association.

The members of the Bergen County Firemen’s Home met for their Annual Breakfast Meeting at the Wyckoff Fire Department in Wyckoff, NJ on November 2oth, 2022. After our flag salute and Fireman’s Prayer, we sat down to true tradition in the fire service, a fireman’s breakfast.

A Fire Department breakfast is the best way to start the day

The members of the Wyckoff Fire Department very generously cooked a wonderful breakfast for our members that included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, steak, hash browns and rolls.

Members of the BCFHA wives took time to bake for us as well. We had a selection of cakes and muffins to enjoy during and after the meeting. Our host’s wife always makes the best baked items including her Lemon Bundt Cake with icing.

Over breakfast, the members discussed the upcoming Holiday Party at the Firemen’s Home in December and the dinner to follow by the party for members and their spouses, gifts being given to the residents of the home for the holidays, financial matters, the upcoming fund drive, NJ State happenings in the fire service and a possible membership drive for the organization.

We set the dates for our next two barbecues up the NJ Firemen’s Home for next summer (that is coming quicker than we all think) with the success of the two this year and for the upcoming fundraiser stuffing at the Harrington Park Fire House in January.

We have been getting new members joining the organization so it was the perfect time to introduce them to the organization. We have the upcoming Christmas Party for the residents which is always a good time for everyone. We will be following all COVID rules for the event to make it as entertaining as possible for the residents.

The organization looks forward to the upcoming holiday party and bringing some Christmas cheer to our fellow firefighters.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone from the Bergen County Firemen’s Home Association!

One is an arts site called "Visiting a Museum", where I showcase small museums, historical sites and parks that are off the beaten track both in Manhattan and outside the city to cross reference with "MywalkinManhattan" blog site. Another is "DiningonaShoeStringNYC", featuring small restaurants I have found on my travels in this project, that offer wonderful meals for $10.00 and under.
